What is life as a Private Client with Berman & Pollinger like?

Being a part of our Private Client Group is so much more than a plan to grow your business. It is a chance to be connected with leaders in luxury real estate all over the world. To surround yourself with a group of like-minded operators who believe that they should run the businesses, not the other way around.  Those who are interested in finding the perfect time and money balance for them in each season of their lives.

Whether you’re just starting out, earning seven figures already with your own team or brokerage, or somewhere in between.  If you run a Team or Brokerage and you are serious about growing your business, making more money, and having more fun in the process, then you’ve come to the right place.

We’ve identified the common patterns and the challenges that hold operators and owners of Teams or Brokerages back. And we’ve seen that these obstacles evolve as the business grows.

Our scalable, C-Suite services give you the team of experts you need to build, grow and run a profitable business.

The CEO

A critical team member for growing teams and businesses. The CEO will help you stay with your goals & to think like a business owner.

The COO

Leverage is created by implementing systems. The COO helps convert your practice into a business.

The CFO

To break the 7 figure barrier, it’s all about the numbers. The CFO helps you know your numbers & use them to grow your team or brokerage.

How does it work?

We have divided our program based on the three distinct stages of growth – so we can give you what you know you need now and what we know you’re going to need next as your business grows.

How do we get these kind of results, year-in & year-out with professionals from all walks of life, from all over the world and from all different markets? We’re part consultants. We’re part educators. We’re part coaches. But really, we function as fractional CEO, COO or/and CFO for you.

You know that the most successful businesses all have a dedicated CEO. But you probably never learned what the best CEO’s actually do for the multi-million-dollar business they work for. That is why so many otherwise great agents and brokers will never actually be able to let their profit grow to 7 figures. It is virtually impossible for an operator, or the principle of a Team or Brokerage to be their own CEO out of the gate.  There are very different skill sets to be a successful operator, team leader and brokerage owner.

Success – Stability – Salability

The keys to long term growth.

Success

The first stage is to focus on success.  This is where the business is personality driven and the operator is making up to $500k in annual EBITA (Profit).

Whether you’ve just starting out or you’ve been at it for a while but just can’t seem to crack the $500,000 mark, your challenge is to learn what the real estate schools never taught you: how to manage a business, not just sell.

Here’s a secret no one tells you, the financial success of your business has little to do with your intelligence.  It also has little to do with how good of an operator you are.  What matters is whether or not you understand the business of running a business. Until you learn how to build and manage a business, no matter how good you are at selling real estate, you’re going to struggle. You’re going to work way too many hours, make way too little money, and chances are you are going to find yourself miserable and burnt out.

The good news is that our Private Client program will get you up to speed.  You’ll learn how to sidestep common mistakes that hold many agents back. You’ll learn how to attract clients  that you actually enjoy working with. You’ll learn how to make more money and have more fun in the process.

First, we determine what the revenue number is that you need to live the life you really want. Not the life you are settling for, the one where your kids can go to any school they want. The amount you need to buy your dream house, and how many transactions per year you need to build a small team and take a real vacation. Then we make a plan for your business.  It is tailored specifically for you, your brand, your goals and your market.

The plan is tied to performance, metrics and goals. It is built with experienced outside CEO’s, COO’s and CFO’s with decades of experience working with the industry’s largest, most successful and most profitable brokerages, teams and agents.

All you have to do is commit to the goal, and get to work. We are unapologetic in our drive to see you become wildly successful. To achieve your dreams, and finally see the fruits of your labor and investment harvested in spades.

In this stage, we will assign you a Chief Executive Officer to help unpack the business plan we help to build. You will meet with your assigned CEO based on the schedule you decide.

Stability

The second stage of focus is on building stability.  This takes your business past personality and into a strategically leveraged systems based business that consistently generates between $500k-$1.5 million in annual EBITA (Profit).   Our test for stability is whether or not you can take off three months, without your cell phone, and come back to a thriving business regardless of market conditions.  To make this leap, this is going to take some systems, support and adding a new skill set.  Remember, first we focus on generating revenue through a rock solid listing focused business. But when you get that engine going, we know you are going to want to start buying back your time as the business continues to grow.

If you’re grossing over half a million dollars per year as an operator, you’ve already identified and overcome a great deal of obstacles that trip up most of your fellow agents and brokers.

But the challenge you’re likely facing is how to turn your practice  into a business.  Right now, your practice is most likely personality based and heavily dependent on you. If you went on vacation for thirty days, your practice would grind to a halt. In this stage, you’ll learn how to create a business with systems in place that will allow your business to thrive, with or without your day to day effort.

Upgrading your  practice into a business allows you to work reasonable hours. It allows you the flexibility to spend time with your family. It gives you the opportunity to take vacations without worrying about what’s happening in the office. Ultimately, it allows you to make more money and have a better quality of life doing it.

But now it’s time to break into the rarified air, seven figure barrier.

First, the good news: despite what some of the naysayers (read: losers) may think, you can absolutely earn seven figures. We’ve helped plenty of our clients do exactly that over the years.  But it’s important to understand that what got you this far won’t get you past the seven figure barrier. You’re going to face a new set of challenges. You’re going to face problems that you never anticipated.  You are going to need to develop a new skill set.

In this stage you’ll be assigned to a Chief Executive Officer as well as a Chief Operating Officer who will help you develop critical internal and external policies as well as operating procedures.

Salability

Once the business is successful and stable, we turn our focus to it’s legacy value.  This takes your medium sized team or brokerage into the $1.5 million + in annual EBITA (Profit).  But more importantly, this is where you can start really scaling back on your own personal effort you are spending in the business.  The key here is not that you want to sell your business, but rather that you have structured it so you can.

The $1.5 million club is rarified air. Very few operators will ever achieve a million and a half dollars annually, let alone consistently earn it.  Here is where we start transcending success and getting into significance.  You’ve got money, time and can tap into new revenue sources.  You can duplicate your business into new locations.  You can continue to expand without sacrificing like you did in your early days.

But with this type of success comes unexpected challenges. You’ve probably got nobody to talk to. Your staff doesn’t get it. Fellow operators who are struggling just to make a living certainly don’t get it. You’ve got people pulling at you and you need a safe place to let your guard down and learn from those who have gone before you on how to best leverage what you have.

In this stage, you’ll be assigned a Chief Executive Officer, a Chief Operating Officer, and a Chief Financial Officer who will work with your bookkeeper to extract key financial reports and help you move forward based on the numbers.
